I'm way overdue...in multiple ways.
This photo represents a furious battle of emotions within my brain and heart. Realistic thoughts, societal expectations and my own bewilderment regarding personal satisfaction are just a few of the forces swinging swords within my head and within my chest. What do I want? What do I need? Why can't I answer these questions with definitive answers? I don't know. That's my answer. I don't know. So, I float...
...and I skate. There's nothing like a good skate session to clear the brain of little picture thoughts. Little picture thoughts, unfortunately, are the kind that plague our lives throughout each day. They're the kind of thoughts that make you bitch about shitty traffic, or the long line in the grocery store, or the fact that sometimes your smartphone isn't as smart as you think it should be. They're the irrelevant thoughts which life shouldn't be based off of. Please realize this. The big picture thought should always be in the back of your brain. It's good to embrace the big picture. The big picture is similar to your attempt to understand how small you are in the Universe. It's what you learned from Carl Sagan. Embrace the big picture thought...but don't let it be an excuse to cause pain in others. That's an easy thing to do. The big picture can sometimes be a crutch...don't succumb to that, as I have. Realize the big picture but also understand that little picture thoughts are important. They are important because our face time on this planet is very short. Very short, indeed.
Big picture...little picture. How you choose to interpret each concept is ultimately how you choose to spend your time on this planet. Choose wisely...and if you find the right way, please let me know.
